Duo Musopoeia: Sunday morning concert

Duo Musopoeia was founded to bring rarely heard music from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries back into the spotlight. To this end, the duo delves into manuscripts and music collections containing works that have often never appeared in printed form. They also arrange well-known works especially for their unique combination of violin and harpsichord.

Music was an important part of the life of Constantijn Huygens, who was himself an avid musician and composer. He corresponded with leading figures from the seventeenth-century European music world, including Johann Jakob Froberger and Jacques Champion de Chambonnières. During this concert, the chamber music from Huygens’s era will once again sound at Hofwijck.

About the musicians
Miyu Nohashi graduated cum laude in 2025 with a Bachelor’s degree in Historical and Modern Violin from the Toho Gakuen School of Music. She won a prize at the international early music competition in Yamanashi. She is currently studying at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague under the guidance of Ryo Terakado. Miyu performs in various early music ensembles and has played at events including the Utrecht Early Music Festival, the Musikfest Bremen and the York Early Music Festival.

Mervyn Lee is studying harpsichord with Carole Cerasi at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. At the age of fifteen, Mervyn began playing the harpsichord, alongside his piano studies with Professor Thomas Hecht. Since then, he has performed under Masaaki Suzuki of the Bach Collegium Japan and collaborated with Olivier Fortin and Stéphane Fuget. Mervyn is a co-founder of Red Dot Baroque, Singapore’s first professional Baroque ensemble.
