Got something to celebrate? Celebrate it at the Huygens Museum! From a birthday, or an anniversary to a cosy get-together or a special dinner: the Huygens Museum offers a unique and atmospheric venue for every occasion.

At the historic Hofwijck country estate and in the Notarishuis, there are various options for your special event. For example, you could opt to hire the museum exclusively for your group or enjoy a high tea in the charming historic kitchen during the museum’s opening hours.

Arrangements

The packages listed below take place in the historic kitchen at Hofwijck or in the Painting Gallery of the Notarishuis. The packages are available during the museum’s regular opening hours. No room hire fee is required. However, every guest must hold a valid admission ticket or a Museum Card for the Huygens Museum.

High Tea
Enjoy a delicious high tea in the Painting Gallery of the Notarishuis or in the historic kitchen at Hofwijck. An extensive selection of savoury and sweet treats awaits you, including scones, muffins, luxury biscuits, chocolates, sandwiches and mini quiches. There is also a wide choice of different teas and, of course, coffee is available too.

The high tea lasts 1.5 hours and is provided by our in-house caterer, DISH Catering. Both venues have a maximum capacity. Please feel free to contact us for more information about the options available.

Lunch
Lunch at the museum? You can enjoy it in the historic kitchen at Hofwijck or in the Painting Gallery at the Notarishuis. A generous sandwich lunch featuring fresh, seasonal soup, generously filled sandwiches, fresh fruit, milk and orange juice, provided by our in-house caterer DISH Catering, will be waiting for you. The lunch lasts 1 hour.

Venue rental

The costs for reception, lunch, and dinner are divided into two components: catering and rental fees. For events held in the spaces of either venue (the hall/kitchen at Hofwijck or the Painting Room in the Notary's House), the rental costs are €750 for a half-day and €995 for a full day (outside of opening hours).

During opening hours, you only pay the entrance fee for events in the 17th-century kitchen, and there is no rental charge; however, the museum remains accessible to other visitors. All prices mentioned are exclusive of VAT and subject to change.
