Sebastiaan Janse trio: Sunday morning concert
11.00 – 12.00
Notarishuis
The new concert season is kicking off once again, starting with a very special concert! During Open Monuments Weekend, the Huygens Museum will be welcoming the Sebastiaan Janse Jazz Trio. Book your tickets here.
The Sebastiaan Janse Trio consists of pianist Sebastiaan Janse, drummer Rafael Slors and double bassist Emile Fortanier. Guitarist Tobias van der Pijl will be joining the trio as a special guest. The three musicians met whilst studying at the Utrecht Conservatoire and have now been playing together for five years. Through their shared love of jazz and their close friendship, they have developed a strong musical rapport.
During the concert you can expect original compositions by Sebastiaan Janse. These are interspersed with well-known jazz standards by artists including Billy Strayhorn and Jerome Kern, which have been specially arranged for the trio and given a contemporary twist. The programme allows plenty of scope for improvisation and interaction, giving each performance its own unique character. The trio’s mission is to create contemporary jazz in which creativity, trust and a distinctive sound take centre stage.

About the Sunday morning concerts
In September, the Huygens Museum will launch the second season of its Sunday morning concerts. An intimate concert will take place every second Sunday of the month from 11.00 to 12.00. With this concert series, the museum offers a platform to conservatoire students who have recently graduated or are in the final stages of their studies.
