Sunday morning concert 9 november 2025: Maring Kwartet

9 November 2025
10.30 – 12.00
Notarishuis

New talent on an old stage! The Huygens Museum is launching a new series of Sunday morning concerts. On 9 November, the Maring Quartet will kick off the series with Beethoven's 7th string quartet.

Programme
On Sunday morning, 9 November, the Maring Quartet will perform Beethoven's String Quartet No. 7 in F major, Op. 59, at the Notarishuis. Beethoven wrote this quartet in 1806 for the Russian Count Razumovsky, the first of three quartets in this series. The work opens with a powerful and extensive first movement, in which the themes are slowly revealed. This is followed by a scherzo full of rhythmic surprises and lively twists and turns. The third movement begins softly and melancholically. It is intimate and tragic, but also full of hope. At the end, it flows into the finale, which features a Russian folk song, a nod to the patron himself.
