Familiar Faces from Leidschendam-Voorburg
On display at Notarishuis
In the exhibition ‘Familiar Faces’, you’ll come face to face with a host of figures from the history of Leidschendam-Voorburg. Discover the personal stories behind the Huygens Museum’s rich collection of portraits, including drawings, prints, paintings and sculptures.
Who are the people in these portraits? And how did they end up in the museum’s collection? Prompted by these questions, the Huygens Museum set out to explore its own museumdepot. The result: works that have been tucked away in the depot for years are now being brought back into the spotlight. Behind every portrait in the exhibition lies a personal story. Alongside familiar faces of famous local figures, there are also portraits of ordinary, sometimes anonymous people on display. The exhibition is an artistic reflection of the people of the municipality.
